Anna Jacobson

This work investigates the use of photography as an archive to perform personal histories. The photos were taken on my mother's trip to Israel when she was 18. By placing myself in the faded photographs on old lined album paper, it is as if I were present on the trip and draws on notions of the Jewish Diaspora. The places and people in the postcards, only known through the original images, now become a theatre in which to perform, interact and explore.
